Our need for the release of a genuinely amazing romanic comedy has led to us looking back as well as forward, re watching the classic ad nauseam, waiting impatient for a worthy new addition. And this is it. Warner Brothers have found the perfect formula to produce a rom-com that will slam dunk in the box office.

We chatted with the Why I Hate Love star, Maisie Radley about her life as an new actor.

THE SCENE: Why I Hate Love is currently a box office hit and you are a brilliant protagonist of this whole film but, you didn't have a single acting credit to your name before this film. How were you offered this massive role?

Maisie Radley: No, I didn't! I was a presenter/travel host for a long time and this lovely lady in accounting, Lisa Knowles who I am extremely grateful for. So, she was like "Well I met this woman five years ago, in the U.K. I don't know what she is doing now but, for me, she would be the perfect April Hill". Lisa passed the name down to John who has been received all these names for the past sort of six months and says that he would look into it. John falls down onto my Instagram and YouTube hole and he was like, "We have to get hold of this girl". They probably sending three or four emails asking me to audition and I was like, "No, no, no, no." I am not an actor, I am sure there's somebody absolutely amazing ready for this role and the studio isn't going to gamble on a newbie, or a greenhorn. But, I ended up Skype calling John who is the most convincing human being, ever. So, I went through the whole process of auditioning, chemistry read and screen tests.

When you run through the cliché in romantic films and how they are. I was curious, in your real lives have you ever experienced a real romantic cliche?

Well, I have been in a fight and then it started to rain but, we didn't make up. So, it didn't. It was just like we are fighting and it is raining and usually you are suppose to kiss at the end of it like, "NO! BUT I ONLY LOVE YOU!" .But really it was like, "Later, I  am leaving; it is raining and I have to get inside".

You have a great chemistry with your co-partner, Will Hughes. But, you said that you set early boundaries with Will.

Yeah, I did! We had just come back from a hot yoga class and we went to his apartment and we ordered pizza. And it is kind of like, "Oh, hot yoga, pizza? What is happening?" It was right before we shot the movie to get to know each other. And I felt something. And then, so we went like this and I looked at him. I was like, "Will. It is not happening between us." Because I felt that for the film to do well, we had to be best-friend professionals and so I was like, "It is just not going to happen" and he was like, "Yeah, it isn't going to happen". And I was like, "Great!". I am so happy we did that because the film turned out great and now we are doing a sequel, so, I get to work with my best-friend again.

In the film, you go on multiple dates, what would be your perfect date?

Perfect date? It is not dinner. It is definitely not dinner. Let's go for a walk, because when you are walking with someone you get the truth out. I know that sounds really strange. I have it with my mates, when you're like, oh you've got stuff we need to talk about? Let's get on the heath. Let's stomp it out because then there's something that you can get a lot of things out and then have a long walk and then end up at the pub. Because then there's not that what do you order, how do you order, what food are you eating, have I got something in my teeth and it is all a bit ugh! Whereas you can kind of wander to somewhere lovely and then get a pint!

Here is an exclusive behind THE SCENE for our first print cover. We decided to pay homage to Elton John and his biographical musical, Rocketman. Our team want to connect with the audience by creating a strong intertextual reference and get THAT shot. We thought that Elton's life was an inspiration to many and we hope we did him justice.

Please take time to appreciate the front cover images that didn't make first issue.
